United Nations reiterates concern over the impact of U.S. sanctions about Cuba on vital services and supplies

by Ed Newman

The United Nations has reiterated its concern about the effects of the sanctions imposed by the United States against Cuba, noting that they directly affect essential services and supplies for the population.

Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, specifically warned about the consequences of these measures in the health sector and reaffirmed the organization’s support for the Cuban people.

These statements come amid growing international rejection of the US blockade, which for decades has limited Cuba’s access to medicines, medical equipment, and other basic resources.
