Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel congratulated the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery on Friday for its 60th anniversary in a message posted on the social network X.
“A warm greeting to its director and team—doctors, nurses, and all the staff who uphold the excellence of this leading center for neuroscience in Cuba, amidst the genocidal blockade,” the president wrote.
The National Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery is the founding and leading center for neuroscience in Cuba, as well as the governing body for neurology and neurosurgery in the country.
The center’s extensive educational work made it, for many years, the training ground for specialists across various branches of neuroscience who went on to establish and strengthen the field in different regions of the country.
