Cuban president returns home after official visit to Russia

Havana, May 10 (RHC)-- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CCPCC) and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, is back in Cuba after his visit to the Russian Federation to participate in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.

At José Martí International Airport in Havana, the president was received by the Secretary of Organization of the CCPCC, Roberto Morales Ojeda; Vice President Salvador Valdés Mesa; and the Secretary of the Council of Ministers, Amado Ricardo Guerra.

From his account on X, Díaz-Canel described the military parade for the 80th anniversary of the Victory over fascism in Moscow as impressive.

"It is an honor to share the platform with heroes of the Great Patriotic War, with the brave people of Russia, its President, Vladimir Putin, and other world leaders," he emphasized.

In addition, yesterday, the Cuban president held a cordial meeting with Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President of that Asian nation.

During the dialogue, they reviewed the excellent state of ties between both parties and governments and agreed on ways to deepen them, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations.
