Lima, August 5 (RHC) – Cuba could not reach the Sports Shooting Finals in the discipline´s last day of competitions at the Lima 2019 Pan-Am Games.  Cuban athletes of Women´s Pistol, Mixed Doubles 10 meters Air Rifle and Men´s Skeet, lacked accuracy and the points they scored were nowhere close to what they needed to advance.

In Rifle, Cuban duo of Eglys Cruz and Alexander Molerio summed up 823.6 points to end up in the 8th place, while Dianelys Perez and Rainier Quintanilla barely scored 807.9 to finish 21st.  This resulted in the direct elimination of both duos, since only the top 5 in the scoreboard would advance to next round.

Sheyla Gonzalez was only one point away from entering the to 8 in the Pistol, a position that would have got her into the Finals. Gonzalez scored a total of 565 points (282 in the Precision Round and 283 in the Rapid-Fire Round). Laina Perez finished in the 13th place after scoring 561.

In the skeet, veterans Juan Miguel Rodriguez and Guillermo Alfredo Torres could not reach the Finals either. Rodriguez scored 114 points to finish 17th out of 28 shooters, while Torres could not make it through the first round.
