Bogotá, May 21 (PL-RHC) -- In the northern city of Cartagena de Indias, Colombian authorities seized a shipment of 272 kilos of cocaine that was being transported by sea to the United States.

The drugs were found during a search control in the port of Cartagena, hidden in metal tubes or torpedoes, ready to be attached to a motorboat, Caracol Radio said.

According to General Ricardo Restrepo, director of the Narcotics Police, one of the soldiers noticed two tubes floated in the water and then they were able to find another three containing the drug.

This new shipment joins 96 kilos of cocaine seized in Cartagena a few days ago, six of them in the Rafael Nuñez Airport, bound for Panama.
