LAUSANNE, March 17 (Xinhua) -- The new round of talks over Iran's long-disputed nuclear program between U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif resumed in the Swiss city of Lausanne Tuesday morning, with more powers to participate later in the day.

The talks were joined by Ali Akbar Salehi, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, and U.S. Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz. The two later left the major negotiation room and had a separate meeting.

The representatives from the P5+1 group, namely Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States, are scheduled to meet together and hold talks with Iran on Wednesday in Lausanne.
