New York, July 16 (RHC)-- The family of Eric Garner, who died one year ago this Friday after a police chokehold in the U.S. city of New York, has renewed their call for criminal charges against the officers.

Video shows police pulling Eric Garner to the ground and piling on top of him while he says "I can’t breathe" at least 11 times. A grand jury declined to indict Officer Daniel Pantaleo for the chokehold.

On Monday, New York City announced a $5.9 million settlement with the family, but Garner’s mother, Gwen Carr, said the settlement is not enough. She says that "the victory will come when we get justice."
