Kabul, February 24 (RHC)-- Afghan officials say more than two dozen Daesh terrorists have been killed in U.S. drone strikes in Afghanistan's eastern province of Nangarhar.  The aerial assaults reportedly took place in the Achin district of the province, which is located 120 kilometers east of the Afghan capital, Kabul.

A government spokesman said that 25 members of the Takfiri Daesh militant group were killed in the aerial assaults.  He added that a considerable amount of weapons and munitions were destroyed during the raids.

The United States regularly uses drones for airstrikes and spying missions in Afghanistan as well as Pakistan's northwestern tribal belt near the Afghan border.  Washington has also been conducting targeted killings through remotely-controlled armed drones in Somalia and Yemen.
