Washington, July 4 (RHC)-- Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has repeated calls for the return of the waterboarding torture technique against terrorism suspects, saying, “I like it a lot.”

The Hill reports that Trump, referring to beheadings by the Daesh terrorist group, said: “You have to fight fire with fire."  Trump made the comments at a rally in the state of Ohio.

“What do you think about waterboarding?” Trump asked the crowd. “I like it a lot,” he answered himself... adding that he didn't even think is was "tough enough."

“They [Daesh] can do chopping off heads, drowning people in steel cages, they can do whatever they want to do,” the real estate tycoon complained.

Waterboarding, which was used by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) on terror suspects after the September 11, 2001 terror attacks, was banned by the U.S. government in 2006.

Trump's campaign has been marked by controversy from the beginning, including disparaging remarks about women, Mexican immigrants and Muslims.

The New York billionaire secured the majority of delegates needed to claim the presidential nomination last month, but he continues to face opposition from many Republican officials and activists who believe he could damage the party for years to come.
