Havana, October 11 (RHC)--Cuba will be represented at an international ministerial meeting on youth being held in Moscow from October 12th through the 14th.  The delegation is headed by Cuban youth leader Susely Morfa Gonzalez.

The meeting in the Russian capital precedes the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students, slated to begin next Sunday in Sochi.

In remarks to the press before leaving for Russia, the First Secretary of the Young Communist League stressed the importance of the Festival and explained that it will provide a great opportunity to share the island´s experiences on education, science, the protection of the environment, and international security, some on the subjects topping the event´s agenda.

She added that the Festival will also allow Cuban delegates to know about the realities experienced by young people from other countries of the world.

“We will make a call for a better future and an inclusive and safe world, where the rights of children, adolescents and young people are respected”, Morfa said.

More than 20,000 young people from 150 countries are expected to attend the Youth Festival in Sochi, among them representatives of youth NGOs, young workers, athletes, artists and leaders of youth organizations.
