Havana, August 7 (RHC) -- Activists with the Latin American and Caribbean Brigade of solidarity with Cuba demanded the immediate lifting of the economic blockade imposed by the United States on the Caribbean island.

During a ceremony celebrated Thursday at the Julio Antonio Mella International Camp in the province of Artemisa, the 170 brigade members from 13 countries issued a final declaration expressing their rejection of the U.S. economic sanctions.

The activists from 13 different countries in the region also called for Washington's withdrawal from the illegally occupied territory in the Cuban province of Guantanamo.

The brigade concluded its activities in Cuba in Friday.
