Nairobi, December 16 (RHC-PL) -- A Cuban delegation is participating in the Tenth Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO), which continued its sessions today in Nairobi, Kenya.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Ileana Núñez, who heads the Cuban delegation, stressed the need to reaffirm the continuity of the Doha Agenda for Development (DDA) to achieve its full conclusion.

She also stressed the importance of preserving the special and differential treatment for developing countries as a guiding principle of the World Trade Organization.

Nuñez stressed that "the introduction of new issues on the agenda of the WTO, without prior completion of the DDA will not favor the credibility of the multilateral trading system, or contribute to resolving major imbalances in international trade."
