Havana, May 10 – (RHC) Arsenal beat West Ham 1-0 in the London derby today and took another step towards the English Premier League title, with two games remaining in the season.
With this away win at the London Stadium, the Gunners reached 80 points, six more than their closest pursuer, Manchester City, who still have three games to play before the end of the season.
The winning goal came in the 83rd minute when, after several attempts in the opposition’s half, Leandro Trossard, assisted by Martin Ødegaard, fired the ball into the back of the net with a right-footed shot.
In stoppage time, Callum Wilson appeared to have equalized for the Hammers, but after a VAR review, the goal was disallowed.
In other results from the day, Crystal Palace and Everton drew 2-2; Burnley and Aston Villa also drew 2-2, while Nottingham Forest and Newcastle drew 1-1.
