FMLN expresses solidarity with Cuba amid U.S. threats of aggression

The Secretary General of the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN), Manuel “Chino” Flores, expressed his solidarity with the Cuban people, who are threatened with imperialist aggression from the United States.

In a press conference in San Salvador, Flores stated that the island suffers a criminal blockade, a people who aspire to a better life, with health and education, and who, despite the restrictions and aggressions, have a healthcare system capable of serving the entire world with medical brigades, as demonstrated during the pandemic when they were even able to produce vaccines.

“We will always stand in solidarity with Cuba, with that noble, heroic country that is under constant attack,” added the Secretary General of the FMLN.

Many of those who attack Cuba, he emphasized, have family members who received eye surgery through Mission Miracle, were cured, or received support from that country.

It takes senselessness and inhumanity to support this imperialist policy. It is necessary to read the history of US aggression in the Latin American region, including Nicaragua, Cuba, Guatemala, and Panama.

“Those who don’t know history are simply manipulated, and for that reason, we are obligated to remind them of history,” he reiterated.

Likewise, Flores defended the Palestinian cause against Zionist, far-right, fascist aggression, and stressed the importance of the population being aware of these events.

The previous day, solidarity movements from around the world defended the Cuban cause and rejected the hostile and belligerent attitudes of the US government.
