Havana, April 20 (RHC) – Lecce drew 1-1 against Fiorentina today in the 33rd round of Italian football (Serie A) and remain in the relegation zone.
Eusebio Di Francesco’s men failed to capitalize on their home advantage and the support of the fans at the Stadio Via del Mare to secure three points that would have lifted them from the bottom of the table.
The first goal of the game came in the fourth minute courtesy of Jack Harrison, who latched onto a through ball from midfielder Rolando Mandragora and slotted it into the back of the net.
Tiago Gabriel equalized for the home side in the 71st minute, heading home a corner kick past the opposing defense and beyond the reach of goalkeeper David De Gea.
With the draw, Fiorentina finishes the matchday in 15th place with 36 points, just three ahead of Cagliari, while Lecce remains in 18th place with only 28 points.
