Renowned Spanish tenor, Plácido Domingo, was unable to perform at Havana’s Grand Theater Alicia Alonso on Saturday, as scheduled.  The evening before, on Friday, November 25th, the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro passed away. Concerts and many other cultural events were canceled with the proclamation of nine days of National Mourning beginning on Saturday.

The famous 75 year-old singer was scheduled to share the stage with his son, Plácido Domingo Jr., and Puerto Rican soprano, Ana María Martínez, with whom he recently performed in Sonora, Mexico. To date, there has been no announcement when the concert may be rescheduled.
