Buenos Aires, August 8 (RHC)-- The former president of Bolivia, Evo Morales, denounced that the de-facto government of Jeanine Añez is in complicity with the military and preparing a coup d'état to prevent the holding of general elections.

"I denounce that General Iván Ortiz Bravo, head of the third department of the Armed Forces Command, on the instructions of the commander in chief of the Armed Forces, General Sergio Carlos Orellana, has a coup d'état plan," warned Evo Morales.

During an interview with a local radio station to broadcast a message on the occasion of the 195th anniversary of the Armed Forces, the former commander revealed this information, which came to him from "military patriots."

"A new coup d'état is underway in #Bolivia, whose plan is being carried out by Generals Ortiz and Orellana.  An attempt is being made to establish a government of civilians and the military.  To this end, two planes with weapons arrived from the U.S. and moved snipers to El Alto and Chapare."

Evo Morales said that two U.S. planes arrived a few days ago, bringing war material.  "We don't know if it is a donation or a purchase, the immediate reaction group of the army is mobilized," he said.

Similarly, Evo reiterated the denunciation of the deployment of snipers from the Challapata and Sanandita regiments in the city of El Alto to repress the popular demonstrations demanding that the presidential elections not be postponed.

In this sense, he asked the popular bases to organize themselves in defense committees or vigils, to defend the community radio stations in the country, which offer a different vision of reality than that offered by the main corporate media.

On the other hand, he congratulated the soldiers of the Army who supported his mandate to guarantee the nationalizations and the economic project.
