Havana, August 6 (RHC)—The Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, announced on Thursday the implementation of the first phase of Cuba's Single Window for Foreign Trade (VUCE).

During the official presentation, the minister said the project was designed with input from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the European Union.
The three-phase initiative, part of the Cuban Government's effort to computerize society, seeks to facilitate the work of Cuban and foreign entrepreneurs who carry out international purchase and sale operations.

" In phases two and three of the VUCE program, all the procedures will be computerized so that the processes are dynamic and there is less physical interaction. We are already working on phase 2, whose objective is to simplify the registration processes of importers and exporters before the MINCEX, the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, customs, and all the authorizations before dispatch. We hope to be able to offer online registration to the public in October of this year 2020, " said the minister.

It is expected that with the launching of the new Single Window for Foreign Trade, steps and requirements will be reduced by 50% without modifying the existing regulations.
