Cuba reports 46 new cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours

Havana, August 13 (RHC)-- The National Director of Epidemiology of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Francisco Duran, reported 46 new cases detected yesterday of COVID-19, for a total of 3,174 positive cases across the island.  

During his daily press briefing held Thursday morning, Dr. Duran said that over the past 24 hours -- up until 12 midnight Wednesday night -- unfortunately, one patient died from the coronavirus.  A total of 89 patients have died in Cuba over the past several months.  

To date, 1,200 patients have been admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance, 30 of them under surveillance, 600 suspected of having coronavirus and 558 confirmed.

For COVID-19, 4,591 samples were studied, resulting in 46 positive samples.  The country has accumulated 314,499 samples and 3,174 positive ones.
