Hanoi, August 21 (RHC) -- The Acting Vice President of the Association of Vietnam-Cuba Friendship (AAVC), Nguyen Duy Cuong, says that his organization is sponsoring a contest about Cuba and Vietnam's solidarity with the Caribbean island nation.

He said at a press conference in Hanoi that the Voice of Vietnam has joined the initiative to honor the 55th anniversary of relations between the two countries.

The contest coincides with important developments in the land of Ho Chi Minh, including the August Revolution, commemorated on August 19th and Independence Day, September 2nd , as well as the Asia-Pacific Conference of Solidarity with Cuba, to be held in Hanoi on September 8th and 9th.

"Vietnam-Cuba: Solidarity for Development" will be the main topic of the contest addressed to all Vietnamese citizens residing in the country or abroad in order to stimulate knowledge about these relations, especially among young people " said Nguyen Duy Cuong.

He explained that the competition includes 12 simple questions and answers that will be published every Monday on the programs and the website of the Voice of Vietnam (http://www.vov.vn).
