Ciego de Avila, October 6 (AIN-RHC)-- The 6th Big Game Trolling Fishing tournament is starting today, Tuesday, and will run until October 10th at Jardines del Rey tourist destination in Ciego de Avila with the participation of competitors from Canada, Britain, Turkey and Cuba.

The program will show the potential of the Cayo Guillermo area for the development of the art of navigation and fishing. The tournament follows the rules by the International Sports Fishing Association with the catch, mark and release system as well as three pictures to validate the catch before a panel of judges.

Kenia González López, commercial director of Marina Marlin Internacional of Cayo Guillermo said the event is gaining more participation each year and more participants repeat their visit motivated by the good contest conditions.

Many participants made the reservation many months in advance to travel with family and friends, showing they enjoy the friendly competition.

The three-and-a-half-day event will allow teams to include up to four contenders and an additional fisherman, who will compete for the first catch award, the biggest dorado (high size of 0,70 meters) and the best three fishermen, according to the standings.

The event is sponsored by the Marina Marlin Internacional of Cayo Guillermo, along with the Cuban Sports Fishing Federation of the National Sports and Recreation Institute (INDER), Havana Club, Cubanacan Travel Agency, Bucanero, Internacional Cubana de Tabaco and Meliá Hotels International.
