President Miguel Diaz-Canel presents Graziella Pogolotti with José Martí Order

Havana, March 25 (RHC) – Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel presented renowned intellectual Graziella Pogolotti with the José Martí Order the highest distinction granted by the Cuban government to Cuban and foreign personalities.

During the ceremony, held Wednesday at Havana’s Revolution Palace, Pogolotti, a renowned writer and journalist, said she was honored and thrilled and thanked Cuban authorities for the gesture.

The President of Casa de las Americas Abel Prieto said Graziela Pogolotti is an essential figure of Cuban culture.

Also, an art critic and essayist, Pogolotti serves as the current deputy president of the National Association of Writers and Artists (UNEAC). She is also a member of the Cuban Academy of Language and president of the Alejo Carpentier Foundation.

An award-winning writer, Graziela Pogolotti was awarded the National Literature Prize in 2005.
