Minorities in the US

Havana, September 8 (RHC)-- The Havana-based Casa de las Américas and the Research Center on World Politics have called the 3rd Conference on Native Populations, Afro-descendants and Latino Communities in the United States.

The event will be held virtually from November 17th through the 19th due to the complex epidemiological situation in Cuba and the world generated by the covid-19 pandemic.

Organizers say the aim is to analyze the common and differentiated challenges that native Americans, African-Americans and Latinos face today in the United States.

They invite researchers and scholars from Cuba and across the Americas to participate, by submitting papers that address the current economic, political, social and cultural reality of those communities. Other issues include communication and dialogue strategies, education and resilience in the confrontation of the covid-19 pandemic.

Those interested should submit their works to the organizing committee via e-mail at coa@casa.cult.cu and casadelasamericascuba@gmail.com. Deadline is October 17th, 2021.

The selected works will be published, together with the event’s daily debates on a website specially created for that purpose.
