Havana, September 30 (RHC)-- The III International Meeting of Poetic Improvisation Oralitura Havana 2023 continues its sessions today with intense days of performances, including a traditional Guateque, a Master Class and a show of poetic improvisation.

Today's first activity will feature, among other artists, poet Alexis Díaz Pimienta, this year's honorary president of the contest.

Well into the night will be devoted to a master class in song creation, with the guest Carmen Morales, La Buena Mujer, Spanish singer and teacher, a meeting that will be held at the Elementary School of Music Manuel Saumell, according to the program of the meeting.

To end the day will be developed at the same time, but in the center La Madriguera the show "Room of bad music" based on the homonymous poem by Diaz Pimienta.

In this third edition, the festival seeks to open doors more frequently to the public in the art of repentismo and orality.

Born in 2019 in the midst of the difficult situation generated by the Covid-19, its organizers are inserted in an increasingly mediatic industry, but, with its poetics and preservation of the traditional, already won a large number of followers.

The contest gathers the best improvisers in Cuba, making its capital city the epicenter of orality and the tenth in the world.
The event also defends and promotes the Punto Cubano, a poetic and musical expression declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2017.

The five festive days will be filled with concerts, various shows, workshops and master classes, decimódromos, exhibitions, book and film presentations.

The Organizing Committee also informed about visits to tourist and cultural sites, where all variants of improvised poetry will be mixed with other artistic manifestations. (Source:PL)
