Comeback in women´s handball for Cuba

Havana, July 26 (RHC) – Cuban women´s handball team defeated Puerto Rico this Thursday 27-24, during the second game of the Pan-Am Games Handball tournament.

In the first half, the Cubans were behind in the scoreboard by 3 goals, but by half-time they had cut short the difference 13-14. In the second half, the Cuban team took the lead with a 7-meter distance goal scored by Lisandra Lusson, and after Puerto Rican Ciris Garcia was spelled from the match because of a foul inside the box, the Cubans seized the opportunity to increase the difference in the score that eventually gave them the victory. 

Cuban offence was led by Yunisleydis Camejo, Gleinys Reyes and Lorena Tellez with four goals each.

They now need a win against Canada in their 3rd match to assure themselves a spot in the Semi-Finals.
