Baseball: Elite League

Havana, October 21 (PL)--  After days of logistical difficulties, waiting and anguish, the First Elite League of Cuban Baseball will finally have its "play ball" on Saturday, October 22, informed the National Baseball Commission (CNB).

The organization pointed out that the problems with the arrival of uniforms have been left behind and everything is guaranteed to make a tournament whose goal is to become the flag of the sport on the island a reality.

In a press release published in the digital site Jit, the CNB also stated that "the celebration of 50 games for each team is maintained" and "those now pending will be recovered throughout the regular calendar".

In addition, and no less important, it ratified that the champion of the competition will represent the largest of the Antilles in the next Caribbean Series, scheduled for February 2-10, 2023, in stadiums in the metropolitan area of Caracas, capital of Venezuela.

The teams Tabacaleros, Portuarios, Centrales, Ganaderos, Agricultores and Cafetaleros will compete in the tournament under a round-robin system and four tickets will be up for grabs for the post-season.

The event will also be significant as part of the road to the V World Classic (March) and multidisciplinary competitions such as the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador and the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile.
