San Salvador, May 17 (PL) - International Technical Delegates (ITD) of different sports continue in El Salvador the evaluation of the facilities for the development of the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games, informed the Organizing Committee Cossan2023.

On Tuesday, the weightlifting DTI, Peruvian José Quiñones toured the facilities of the Flor Blanca Sports Complex accompanied by Cossan2023 technicians and members of the Salvadoran Federation of that sport.

"I am here to verify that the weightlifting stage meets the conditions for the games," said Quiñones when he toured the facilities of the complex.

Later, said a report from the organizing party, the DTI held a meeting with personnel from the Infrastructure and Sports areas of COSSAN2023 in which Cuban advisor René Romero participated.

"What we have agreed is to move everything that is weightlifting to the area of the Cradle of the National Stadium Jorge "Magico" Gonzalez, construction that is advancing rapidly and that according to projections will be ready on June 5," said the Peruvian.

"Everything indicates that on June 5 we can already have the physical recognition of the facilities for the games, we had the visit of the DTI this day and we moved to the Cradle of the "Magico". The Adolfo Pineda Gymnasium was left as an alternative for training", said Raquel Artiga, manager of the local Weightlifting Federation.

World class athletes are expected to attend the games, including medalists in international events from Colombia, Venezuela, Dominican Republic and Mexico, among others.

Another of the recent visits was that of the artistic gymnastics DTIs of both sexes, the Puerto Rican Yazaira Cabrera, for the women, and Esteban Camacho, for the men, who assessed the preparations for this sport at the Ciudad Merliot Sports Complex.

After their tour, both DTIs were satisfied and predicted that the Central American and Caribbean Games will have a high level in artistic gymnastics with the attendance of world medalists, among them Mexico's Alexa Moreno and Panama's Hilary Heron.
