Jumper Zayas finishes second in Opole Festival

Havana, June 19 (JIT) - High jumper Luis Enrique Zayas returned to the podium in a competition in Europe.

Zayas took second place at the Opole High Jump Festival in Poland, with a mark of 2.25 meters, the same height achieved by the winner, Norbert Kobielski of Poland, but with fewer errors.

Third place went to the Ukrainian Andrii Protsenko, owner of 2.21 meters.

The other focus of attention for the followers of athletics was on Sunday in the Polish city of Poznan, where Greysis Roble finished fifth in 100m hurdles, with 13.27 sec, in a meeting with silver category of the World Athletics Continental Tour.

Next Thursday several Cubans will compete in the Malaga meeting, and on the 26th the Cubans will travel to the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador.
