Havana, August 24 (PL) - For the first time this season, Cuba ceased to lead the world ranking of baseball 5, according to the update of this global list.

Cuba, champion in 2022, dropped to sixth place with 1,393 points, most of them granted by that title, in a ranking now dominated by Taipei of China (2,243 points). France (1,656) and Japan (1,639) occupy the second and third places, respectively, in a list that includes 45 nations and territories that practice baseball 5.

In Latin America, Venezuela is in tenth place with 905 units, after falling five places, and Mexico (807) is in 12th place.

The World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC), the governing body of this young sport modality, added the results of tournaments held in Asia, Africa and France, as well as the Cuba-Jamaica and Japan-Taipéi matches in China. At the same time, the points allocated for the 2019 competitions expired.
