Havana, February 12 (EFE) - The elimination of Brazil, after losing to Argentina (0-1) on the last day of the South American Pre-Olympics, left Paris 2024 without the champion of the two previous editions and with the Albiceleste team, Spain and France as the only teams that have already won gold in the men's soccer tournament at the Games.

The last day in Caracas confirmed the qualification for Paris 2024 of Argentina and Paraguay and the elimination of the Canarinha, which had not missed an Olympic Games since Athens 2004.

Twelve of the 16 teams that will compete in the men's tournament are already known: hosts France, the United States, the Dominican Republic, Spain, Israel, Ukraine, Morocco, Egypt, Mali, New Zealand, Paraguay and Argentina. Still to be settled is the Asian U-23 Cup, which awards three places, and the play-off between the fourth-placed team from Africa, Guinea, and the Asian tournament.
