Havana, March 1 (JIT).- Star striker Onel Hernandez will miss the friendly between the Cuban and Nicaraguan soccer teams because of an injury suffered on his right foot.

As announced by the Cuban Football Association (AFC) on the social network Facebook, the Norwich striker will miss the rest of the season due to the incident. "We wish him a speedy recovery - ¡Mucha Fuerza Onel!", can be read in the AFC's publication.

The native of Ciego de Avila was part of the group that will participate from March 21-26 in a preparation base in Nicaragua, which will culminate with the clash between the two national teams.

"A sensitive loss for the team because of his quality. We were eager to be able to finally count on him and take advantage of the opportunity for him to adjust to our tactical proposal. We hope that he will be restored very soon and whenever he is ready we will be very happy to call him," commented Yunielys Castillo, technical director of the national team.
