Havana, March 10 (RHC) -- The second day of the 63rd National Series of Cuban baseball will be played this Sunday at the 'Julio Antonio Mella' stadium in the eastern province of Las Tunas.

The day before, the duel between the teams Alazanes, from Granma and Leñadores, from Las Tunas, champions of the last two seasons, began with a victory for the former (16-3).

Today, left-hander Leandro Martínez will be looking for his team's second win, while Rubén Rodríguez will try to even the score.

The great expectation will be around the legendary Dánel Castro, who this Saturday was dismissed in the sixth inning after hitting his 391st double of his life. Abeisy Pantoja, mentor of the Tuneros, confirmed to Prensa Latina that this is the farewell of the first player with 30 seasons in Cuban baseball.

The national series maintains the 75-game schedule in the preliminary phase, with the adjustment that the sub-series will be of five consecutive games in the same venue on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, with a transfer on Mondays and an active rest on Fridays.

This Friday, the tournament organizers informed that all games will start at 2:00 p.m. local time, even if the facilities have conditions for night games.

This decision is due to the difficult electro-energetic situation the country is going through, although it is not ruled out that at some point clashes may be held at 06:30 pm, as initially planned (Source: Prensa Latina and Radio Angulo). (Source: Prensa Latina and Radio Angulo)
