Havana, April 30 (PL)-- Argentinian tennis player Francisco Cerúndolo gave the big surprise today in the Madrid Open tournament, Masters 1000 category.

Cerúndolo, number 22 on the universal list, got rid of the fifth on the planet, the German Alexander Zverev, in just two sets.

After winning the first set 6-3, it was evident that the South American was having one of his best afternoons, and he made it happen by winning the next one 6-4.

Earlier, the Russian Andrey Rublev also eliminated the Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor 6-2 and 6-4, and his compatriot Daniil Medvedev did the same with the Kazakh Alexander Bublik 7-6 (7/3) and 6-4.

Meanwhile, the American Taylor Fritz left the Polish Hubert Hurkacz on the road, after defeating him 7-6 (7/2) and 6-4.
