Havana, May 1 (JIT) - Cuba ran out of chances to qualify for the FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup Philippines 2025.

A second defeat in the CONCACAF tournament held in Guatemala prevented them from obtaining one of the two tickets in dispute.

This time, Mexico was the opponent, and despite the defeat, they showed a better side than against the Panamanians on the previous day.

Nahomi Aguilar's goal in the first half made them think they were recovering from the 2-6 loss they had suffered in the opening match.

But the Mexicans managed to equalize early in the second half, and the task became more difficult for the team coached by Gregorio Morales.

The Islanders saw all hope vanish in the last minutes of the match, when their rivals scored three consecutive times and made the score 4-1.

The women from the Greater Antilles will close their participation in Group A of this event against the hosts, to win their first points.

Whatever happens, this experience should set the course for future work to develop a discipline of incipient presence in Cuba.
