Havana, June 3 (RHC) - Today, the Cuban national soccer team, which is preparing for the CONCACAF qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, played a friendly match against Atlético San Cristóbal, a club from the Dominican league.

The friendly match ended with a lopsided score of 4-0 in favor of the visiting team, even though they did not play at full speed.

Jorge Aguirre opened the scoring, followed by Diego Catasus, Leandro Mena, and Dairon Reyes. Pedro Bravo also stood out, accumulating three assists.

All players had minutes on the field and even rotated positions as they moved through different formations and lineups.

The match also served to evaluate the team's physical ability and fitness ahead of the first game of the qualifying round, scheduled for the 6th against Antigua and Barbuda.

The rest of the players have been joining the squad. Yurdy Hodelín and Alessio Raballo arrived today, and William Pozo and Raico Arrozarena are expected to arrive tonight.

The team will travel to Antigua and Barbuda, the venue for the match, on Tuesday afternoon. There, they will finalize their preparations before taking to the field in search of a victory that will keep their chances of advancing to the next round alive.
