Havana, Jun 27 (RHC) The sporting director of Italian club AC Milan, Albanian Igli Tare, confirmed the signing of Croatian midfielder Luka Modric.

Tare added that the midfielder will arrive at the club after the end of the Club World Championship he is playing for Spanish club Real Madrid.

In his first meeting with Italian journalists as the new sporting director, Tare added that Modric's first question was whether they will be a team made to win the championship.

“He has won six Champions Leagues and wants to be a star player from the beginning; it is important for what he will transmit as mentality, leadership, and professionalism," he added.

This season, Milan will also have a new coach, Massimiliano Allegri, with the mission of reinventing himself after a disastrous season in which he was left out of European competitions.
