U.S. newspapers cut pay and layoff employees amid economic losses from pandemic

New York, March 31 (RHC)-- In media news, Gannett -- which owns USA Today .. has announced it is cutting pay and furloughing employees after a major loss in advertising revenue amid the economic downturn spurred by the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, the Tampa Bay Times said it is reducing its print publication to just two days per week and is laying off workers during the coronavirus crisis.
