Ramallah, August 19 (RHC)-- A shocking video has gone viral on social media platforms, showing Israeli forces torturing Palestinian workers detained at a military checkpoint near the occupied West Bank city of al-Khalil (Hebron).

The video, reportedly captured about a month ago near the Wadi al-Khalil crossing, shows the Palestinian men being brutally beaten by the Israeli forces, who also use sticks to hit them, until they start bleeding, according to the Palestinian Information Center.

The Israeli forces are also seen stripping the Palestinian workers, who scream and plead for mercy while being beaten.  The Palestinian Information Center on Monday cited Israeli media outlets as saying that the crime was committed by five Israeli officers who also stole the laborers’ money after torturing them.

Palestinian youths are forced to work in the occupied territories due the difficult economic conditions in the West Bank, especially amid the coronavirus pandemic.
