Caracas, July 17 (RHC)-- Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced Friday that popular intelligence led to the neutralization of more than 30 members of criminal gangs that carried out violent actions last July 7 in the southwest of Caracas, capital of the country.

In a ceremony to celebrate the National Police Day, the Venezuelan head of state indicated that this is the result of the security deployed in the neighboring states of Miranda and La Guaira, where the criminals would have hidden after the police response.

"Wherever they have run to, we have gone to look for them and this will continue until we capture the last of the criminals who sold their souls to the worst there is in America: the narco-paramilitarism of Colombia", said President Maduro from the headquarters of the National Experimental University of Security (UNES).

He instructed the Vice President for Citizen Security and Peace, Carmen Meléndez, to continue with the investigations to locate the hiding place of weapons, ammunition and money used by the criminals in the sector known as Cota (avenue) 905.

President Nicolás Maduro also denounced that the Colombian paramilitary model was being incubated in the Cota 905 sector.  He revealed that Colombian paramilitaries were training bands of assassins and terrorists, financed from Bogotá, Colombia; Miami, a city in the US state of Florida, and Madrid, capital of Spain.

"We defeated the criminal plan financed from Bogota, Miami and Madrid.  This triangle was headed from Bogota by Iván Duque, President of Colombia; in Miami, by the Miami worms and in Madrid, by Leopoldo López", detailed President Maduro, who announced that they have requested the extradition of Leopoldo López.

With the operations deployed by the Venezuelan police forces "we defeated the Bogota-Miami-Madrid axis", he said.  The Venezuelan president emphasized that "we have dismantled and will continue to dismantle the Colombian model of terrorism and death."
