Cambridge, November 8 (RHC)-- Moderna has announced that the pharma giant will deliver 300 million fewer doses of its highly effective COVID vaccine this year than initially projected. Even so, Moderna reported $3.3 billion in third-quarter profits.

In Cambridge, Massachusetts, protesters rallied outside Moderna’s corporate headquarters, carting in wheelbarrows full of fake money covered in blood, as they demanded Moderna share its vaccine recipe with producers in the Global South.

Dr. Joia Mukherjee, professor of global health at Harvard Medical School, told reporters: “We delivered this blood money to the steps of the Moderna headquarters, and we’ve stood for five minutes in silence — one minute per million people who have died, the large majority of them without access to the vaccine.  We must force Moderna to work with the long list of manufacturers around the world, who are ready, who could actually scale up this vaccine.”
