U.S. mother and daughter face felony charges over at-home abortion in Nebraska

In the U.S. state of Nebraska, a mother and her teenage daughter have been charged with felonies after the mother helped her daughter obtain abortion medication. 

Lincoln, August 11 (RHC)-- In the U.S. state of Nebraska, a mother and her teenage daughter have been charged with felonies after the mother helped her daughter obtain abortion medication. 

Authorities reportedly built their case in part on private Facebook messages between the mother and daughter which were obtained through a warrant.  Investigators also obtained the teenager’s medical records. 

Reports say the teenager, who was 17 at the time, broke the law by performing an abortion after 20 weeks.  The mother and daughter are also accused of burning and burying the fetus. The teenager is being charged as an adult at the request of prosecutors.
