Gaza City, April 28 (RHC)-- More than 50 Palestinians have fallen victim to Israel’s air and artillery strikes as the genocidal war machinery continues to pound Gaza amid a total blockade of the besieged territory.

In a fresh wave of attacks, dozens of Palestinians were killed and wounded across the strip, including three children in Khan Yunis and Gaza City.  The Gaza Health Ministry reported that 51 more bodies were brought to hospitals in the past 24 hours, along with 115 wounded.

An additional 697 previously missing individuals were added to the casualty count after verification, bringing the total death toll since October 7, 2023, to at least 52,243. Women and children make up most of the Palestinian deaths.  The ministry said another 117,600 people have also been wounded in the aggression.

The overall tally includes 2,151 dead and 5,598 wounded since Israel resumed the brutal war last month.  This comes as a humanitarian crisis is unfolding in the Gaza Strip, as the besieged region has completely depleted its food stocks.

The World Food Programme (WFP) recently said that Israel had not allowed any fuel, food, or medicine into the Gaza Strip since early March.

In March, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu banned aid deliveries into Gaza in a move he said was meant to pressure Hamas into accepting an extension of the first stage of the ceasefire deal, which Israel broke.

Israeli war minister Israel Katz recently said the regime would not allow any humanitarian aid into Gaza, confirming that food is being used as a tool of pressure against Hamas.

Israel has leveled much of Gaza with its air and ground attacks.  Israel’s offensive has also displaced around 90 percent of its population, leaving hundreds of thousands of people sheltering in squalid tent camps or bombed-out buildings.
