Caracas, October 13 (PL-RHC)-- The Colombian For Peace Movement exceeded this week 3,000 members, as support to measures taken by the Venezuelan Government seeking to ensure security on the border with this neighboring nation.

According to Juan Carlos Tanus, president of the Association of Colombians in Venezuela, the membership will be open until the end of this month at Bolivar squares in Venezuela.

Tanus said this process will issue data, as the situation and needs of Colombians in Venezuela, and from that starting point to outline the public policies for their welfare.

"Registration, which began on September 18th, is an attempt to build a safer border, as well as productive and free from smugglers and paramilitary forces," said Tanus.

According to Tanus, the Venezuelan Government is committed to the inclusion of all Colombians displaced from their homeland by violence, paramilitaries, the internal conflict and lack of social policies in favor of the poor.
