Ramallah, November 17 (RHC)-- Israeli forces have shot dead a Palestinian citizen and arrested two others during fresh clashes in the occupied West Bank.

The three Palestinians had reportedly fired shots at an Israeli military patrol on Tuesday near the town of Turmus Ayya, located in the the West Bank’s Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate.

The Israeli army said in a statement that one Palestinian was killed, adding: “Two suspects have been detained at the scene."  Palestinian security officials also confirmed the man's death, noting that he had been in a car.

The two Palestinians, who were taken into custody by Israeli troops, were wounded in Tuesday’s confrontation.

Meanwhile, a reporter from Palestine's Ma'an news agency said Israeli soldiers prevented a Red Crescent ambulance from reaching the scene of the incident while the main road between the West Bank cities of Ramallah and Nablus was closed by Israeli army.

On Monday, two other Palestinians were killed and three were wounded in clashes with Israeli troops in the West Bank.
