China´s financing benefits sectors of Cuban economy

Havana, March 17 (RHC)-- China has granted 36 million dollars to Cuba to execute six projects to benefit important sectors of the island´s economy such as livestock, renewable energy and hydraulic infrastructure, among others.

The first deputy minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of the Island, Antonio Luis Carricarte, and Ambassador Chen Xi have confirmed that the financing was used in equipment for the Cuban livestock recovery program and the technological upgrade of the General Customs of the Republic.

It also provided raw materials for the manufacturing of solar panels, rice delivery, as well for equipment and machinery for water and sanitation.

In remarks to the press, Ambassador Xi highlighted China´s willingness to continue working with Cuba in the political, diplomatic, economic, commercial and cultural spheres.

The diplomat added that other bilateral cooperation agreements are currently under study and he expressed confidence in that they will be implemented soon.

For his part, Carricate voiced Cuba´s appreciation for China´s donations and credits to the island.
