Paris, 2 June (RHC)-- The French solidarity association Cuba Linda condemned the decision of the United States to include Cuba, under false arguments, on its list of countries it accuses of not cooperating fully with anti-terrorist efforts.

In a statement issued in Paris, the organization -- founded in 1998 -- described as "intolerable, hypocritical arrogance" the fact that Washington annoints itself with the right to establish such a list, which it considered an instrument to demonize sovereign nations like Cuba.

According to the United States, it included the island because it refuses to give in to the Colombian government's request to hand over guerrillas from the National Liberation Army (ELN), who were participating in peace negotiations in Havana.

In this regard, Cuba Linda criticized the position of Colombian President Ivan Duque for his "greater disregard for international law, since he himself had broken off the dialogue," talks backed by protocols which detail how to proceed in the event of a break-off, without, of course, contemplating the handover of the negotiators.

The Paris-based Cuba Linda association questioned the silence of the U.S. government after the April 30 terrorist attack on the Cuban Embassy in Washington DC, where an individual fired more than 30 bullets with an assault rifle towards the facade and the lobby of the diplomatic headquarters.

Cuba Linda reiterates to the government and people of Cuba all its support and solidarity in the face of the media manipulations and the criminal maneuvers of the U.S. empire.
