Havana, April 9 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla has conveyed condolences to the United Kingdom on the occasion of the passing of Prince Philip,  the husband of Queen Elizabeth II.

On Twitter, the minister wrote: "Heartfelt condolences to Her Majesty Elizabeth II, His Highness Prince Charles, the Royal Family and the British people and government on the passing of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh."

A plaque placed outside Buckingham Palace read that his Royal Highness passed away peacefully on Friday morning at Windsor Castle.

Prince Philip's death at the age of 99 marked the end of a seven-decade marriage to Queen Elizabeth, whom he married in his 20s before she became Queen of England.
