Hanoi, August 30 (RHC)-- Cuba's First Deputy Foreign Minister Gerardo Peñalver Portal continued Tuesday his visit to Vietnam, in the first stage of a tour that will also take him to Cambodia and Laos.

He was received by Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, whom he thanked for Vietnam's unwavering support in the struggle for the immediate and unconditional elimination of the unjust blockade imposed by the U.S. against Cuba, the diplomat said on Twitter.

He also held a meeting with Le Hoai Trung, Head of the Foreign Relations Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam,

"We exchanged views on the experiences in the construction of socialism, based on the specific realities of each country," he said.

According to his program, Peñalver will also hold meetings with the head of the National Assembly (Parliament) committees, Vu Hai Ha.

Next Wednesday, Peñalver and his delegation will travel to the southern city of Ho Chi Minh City, where they will carry out a busy work schedule before traveling to Cambodia on September 1.
