Cuba and Vietnam strengthen ties in the new session of the Intergovernmental Commission

Havana, Dec 20 (RHC) The head of Cuba's Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment (Mincex), Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz, and Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Vietnam's Minister of Construction, chaired Tuesday the 40th Session of the Cuba-Vietnam Intergovernmental Commission for economic and scientific-technical collaboration.

 

At the meeting, which was held via videoconference, Malmierca Diaz said that after 40 years this cooperation mechanism has always been in constant development, promoting economic and scientific cooperation, and deepening friendship and solidarity between the two countries.

 

The Indochinese country expressed its willingness to share experiences with Cuban partners in attracting foreign investment, developing economic zones, high-tech zones, investment management in construction, financial and monetary management, science and technology, technological learning, and innovation.

During the meeting, they reviewed the cooperation results achieved in 2022 and agreed on the contents of cooperation in 2023.

 

The parties signed the minutes corresponding to the session and the Final Protocol that provides for cooperation actions in priority areas such as trade, investment, agriculture and fisheries, health care, construction, communication, and others.

 

At the meeting, the delegations expressed their willingness to continue the effective implementation of the Agreements and Memorandum of Understanding, making an important contribution to the promotion of the socio-economic development of each country. (Source: ACN)
