Group of 77 plus China to evaluate post-pandemic education worldwide

Havana, February 1 (RHC) The Meeting of Education Ministers of the Group of 77 + China is an opportunity to evaluate the issues that concern all countries in the post-pandemic context, said Ena Elsa Velázquez Cobiella, Minister of Education, in an exclusive interview with Granma newspaper.

 

This ministerial meeting will be held today, in the context of the XVIII International Congress Pedagogy 2023, which is taking place in the Cuban capital, with the participation of 51 countries.

 

Among the main topics to be addressed at the meeting, she pointed out how to face the challenges of learning in the education of children, adolescents, and young people; the insertion of research to seek results from science, technology, and innovation, in addition, to promote the use of technologies for the benefit of teachers.

 

Velázquez Cobiella stressed that this is the first time the island hosts a meeting of this kind, and it is also the first activity of the pro tempore presidency of the Group of 77 + China.

 

She said that it will the right time to evaluate the teaching-educational context of common interest for all, and the consolidation of cooperation and solidarity ties between delegates from Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia, who do it regularly in this area, and insert other delegations from the European continent.
